Job advertisement: Residence and event manager for the residence of the German NATO Ambassador
The Permanent Delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany to NATO is looking for a part-time (50%) residence and event manager for the Ambassador’s Residence from mid-September 2025
Applicants should ideally possess the following qualifications:
• Experience of managing/housekeeping residences or similar houses and/or of event management
• Willingness to work flexible hours (including early and late)
• Ability to work very well in a team, excellent communication skills, negotiating skills, technical knowledge
• Ability to work independently
• Experience of ordering and payments for services, e.g. food and drinks
• Good IT skills (Word, Excel)
• Knowledge of German and English is required
• Knowledge of French is desirable
We expect you to perform the following duties/tasks:
- Housekeeping/administrative tasks in cooperation with the Management Section and the Residence team, keeping the household budget
- Assisting with the organisation and running of events, such as receptions and seated meals (purchasing, setting and clearing up, table decoration, receiving guests) in the Residence and occasionally at NATO Headquarters
- Serving as a point of contact for and negotiating with external service providers, e.g. gardeners, technicians, service staff and security staff in the Residence
- Assisting with budget planning and event accounting
- Drawing up household lists and inventories, e.g. of drinks stocks
The successful candidate must have impeccable manners and be very reliable, discreet and flexible.
Contract duration: initially until 31 March 2027, with a possibility of extension
Working hours: 19 hours per week (half-days / 50%)
Salary: from €2136,98 gross per month depending on experience and qualifications
